You will design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems that support Air Apps' global user base. Working closely with engineering teams, you will ensure data integrity, optimize queries, and automate backup and recovery processes for both structured and unstructured data.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain scalable database systems for large applications
- Optimize queries, indexing, and partitioning for better performance
- Monitor database health to ensure high availability and disaster recovery
- Manage SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
- Implement security policies, encryption, and access controls
- Automate backups, replication, and failover mechanisms
- Collaborate with developers on schema design and data modeling
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data governance regulations
What you'll need
- At least 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Expertise in relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB or Redis
- Strong knowledge of optimization, indexing, and replication
- Familiarity with cloud services like AWS RDS or Azure SQL
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or SQL for automation
- Understanding of data security best practices and encryption
- Experience integrating databases into CI/CD workflows
