Join Kota’s Forward Deployed Engineering team to help global payroll providers and HR platforms adopt embedded insurance and retirement products. You will bridge the gap between engineering and customer success by building integrations, writing production code, and shaping the product roadmap based on real-world usage.
What you'll do
- Partner with customer engineering teams to integrate SDKs and APIs
- Translate client needs into scalable, production-ready solutions
- Build internal tools and reusable code to improve developer products
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure successful deployments
- Act as the technical voice of the customer for roadmap decisions
- Debug complex issues across multiple systems and data flows
What you'll need
- 5+ years in software or solutions engineering with customer-facing work
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or C# for production code
- Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, and data integrations
- Experience scoping and shipping complex systems in fast environments
- Strong communication skills for explaining tech to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to spot risks early and maintain quality in ambiguity
Nice to have
- Background in fintech, insurtech, or HR tech sectors
- Familiarity with global payroll or insurance systems
- Prior experience in forward deployed or solutions engineering roles
- Startup or solo-founder experience
- Knowledge of developer experience tooling or internal enablement
