- Senior level role
Join Griffin’s small Infrastructure team to build the systems that power a regulated UK bank. You will write code for platform automation, manage FoundationDB clusters, and ensure operational resilience through chaos engineering and multi-region failover strategies.
The team values maintainability and observability, using RFCs and experiments to validate approaches. You will shape infrastructure software from design to production, supporting a hybrid-cloud setup and removing single-vendor reliance.
What you'll do
- Build and manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure for the banking platform
- Run FoundationDB clusters and develop tooling for hitless upgrades
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and improve scaling capabilities
- Write infrastructure as code using Pulumi and CDK in TypeScript
- Own the deployment pipeline from CI to production using CircleCI
- Implement operational resilience via replica clusters and chaos engineering
- Manage security access, DataDog integration, and cloud spend efficiency
- Develop self-hosted infrastructure to support a hybrid-cloud strategy
What you'll need
- Solid experience running container orchestration in production environments
- Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code and debugging IP networking
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in TypeScript, Python, Go, or functional languages
- Ability to design, test, and review production software, not just configure infrastructure
- Comfortable working in small, high-autonomy startup teams with shifting priorities
- Willingness to learn Clojure for internal tooling and automation tasks
- Experience managing production environments with networking and identity at scale
