You will lead the Internal IT Department, covering platform engineering, infrastructure security, identity management, and financial operations. Reporting to the CIO, you will drive strategy, manage people, and ensure the internal developer platform and security posture support the entire organization.
This hands-on leadership position requires breaking down silos between DevOps and other teams while optimizing infrastructure spend. You will act as the central coordination point for internal infrastructure matters in a fully remote, async-first environment spanning over 50 countries.
What you'll do
- Supervise Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Security, IAM, and FinOps teams
- Co-define infrastructure strategy and roadmap with the CIO
- Manage staffing, career guidance, and performance reviews for the department
- Communicate with C-level executives to eliminate DevOps silos
- Serve as primary contact for internal IT matters and resource allocation
- Integrate AI technology into daily engineering and non-engineering workflows
- Represent department capabilities to external clients when required
- Source, interview, and evaluate candidates to grow the team
- Conduct monthly performance reviews using Rippling
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience leading IT, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and DevOps/SRE
- Ability to co-define and execute technical roadmaps strategically
- Hands-on understanding of infrastructure security, IAM, and FinOps
- Experience translating compliance requirements like SOC2 or ISO 27001 into controls
- Comfort governing internal AI tooling with a security-first mindset
- Excellent skills in hiring, mentoring, and performance management
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with security incident response and threat modelling
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, async-first global environment
Nice to have
- Experience in the blockchain, Web3, or crypto ecosystem
- Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures like AWS and OVH
- Experience running self-hosted or sovereign infrastructure at scale
- Background in productising internal platforms or tools
- Hands-on experience with FinOps tooling and cost optimisation
- Track record building or governing AI/ML and agent infrastructure
