Uberall is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to head the App team within its Analytics & Reporting division. You will manage a group of six engineers, including backend, frontend, and QA specialists, while dedicating 20–30% of your time to architecture and coding. The role involves owning customer-facing data APIs, the Analytics platform section, and reporting tools built on AWS and Kubernetes.
What you'll do
- Manage and grow a team of six engineers across backend, frontend, and QA
- Spend 20–30% of time on architecture, code reviews, and development
- Own customer-facing data APIs and microservices infrastructure
- Maintain the Analytics section of the Uberall platform and custom reports
- Handle deployment, observability, SLOs, and on-call rotation leadership
- Drive migration of data pipelines from monolith to new engineering stack
- Modernize backend services by consolidating on Kotlin and replacing legacy code
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep JVM backend expertise
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Spring Boot framework
- 2+ years leading engineering teams with people management responsibilities
- Experience operating microservices on Kubernetes and AWS in production
- Strong SQL skills and ability to model analytical datasets
- Fluency in React and TypeScript to guide frontend development
- Professional working English for remote collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience with Groovy, Scala, or Python
- Familiarity with BI tools like Amazon QuickSight
- Knowledge of data warehouse platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Background in building LLM-powered features or AI agent integrations
