We are seeking a systems-oriented engineer to develop key components that support the bootstrapping and expansion of the Lightning Network. Your work will focus on creating tools that lower barriers for routing node operators and improve infrastructure management.
You will build software for automated channel selection, capital optimization algorithms, and monitoring suites. The goal is to make Bitcoin usage cheaper, faster, and simpler through robust backend systems.
What you'll do
- Write tooling for automated channel management and client selection
- Implement algorithms for capital efficiency and fee maximization
- Design monitoring and alert infrastructure for routing nodes
- Develop metrics to analyze network health via graph signals
- Build systems to help users acquire and manage liquidity
What you'll need
- Experience building secure, scalable, highly-available systems
- Background in developing and supporting public APIs
- Proficiency in Go, C, or C++
- Security-focused and adversarial mindset
- Knowledge of Bitcoin and applied cryptography
Nice to have
- Familiarity with contributing to open source projects
- Understanding of the Lightning Network protocol
