We are seeking a systems software engineer with expertise in applied cryptography and distributed systems. The position focuses on advancing Bitcoin infrastructure through work on lnd, neutrino, and BOLT specifications.
You will help create next-generation smart contract applications while ensuring the network remains fast, cheap, and simple for users. Collaboration with the broader community and internal teams is central to this role.
What you'll do
- Design and implement core Lightning Network protocols and algorithms
- Contribute to mission critical peer-to-peer cryptocurrency daemons in Go
- Collaborate on research and design for future Lightning Network iterations
- Participate in issue triage and code review for open source contributions
- Communicate with the wider community about software and technology
What you'll need
- Strong engineering background with solid programming skills
- Experience with Go, C, or C++
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems and P2P networking
- Solid engineering practices including testing and documentation
- Experience with Bitcoin, cryptography, or financial software
- Quick learner geared towards implementation and ownership
Nice to have
- Prior contributions to crypto protocols
- Experience with open source software collaboration
