Join the Navigation team at Mapbox to build real-time location services for automotive and logistics sectors. You will lead engineering efforts for the routing cost engine, working on high-traffic recommendation systems within a large multidisciplinary organization.
What you'll do
- Lead engineering teams to implement end-to-end features for navigation
- Design and optimize machine learning and data processing pipelines
- Build automated tools for quality assurance and data exploration
- Apply geospatial algorithms for pipeline optimization and outlier detection
- Collaborate with data scientists to improve traffic and movement models
- Mentor colleagues and conduct code and design reviews
- Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 system availability
What you'll need
- 8-10+ years of backend and machine learning engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with Reinforcement Learning techniques
- Extensive proficiency in Python programming language
- Experience with distributed processing like Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, or Dask
- Strong background in managing very large datasets and statistical analysis
- Proven ability to deploy and manage infrastructure in cloud environments
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical strategy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional work
