Join Span as a Platform Engineer to shape how engineering organizations leverage AI for real effectiveness. You will build internal platforms, tooling, and systems that help teams move faster and reduce operational overhead.
The team works on creating an internal developer platform, including service catalogs and self-service infrastructure. You will partner with engineering groups to identify gaps and implement scalable solutions that streamline workflows.
What you'll do
- Build AI-powered tooling to identify root causes of operational work
- Automate repetitive tasks and recommend engineering improvements
- Create an internal developer platform with service ownership models
- Develop workflows and self-service infrastructure to reduce cognitive load
- Leverage LLMs and AI agents for incident response and documentation
- Partner with engineering teams to improve reliability and scalability
What you'll need
- Experience in platform engineering, DevEx, SRE, or internal tooling
- Background as an early hire, founder, or builder of side projects
- Strong systems thinking and passion for automation
- Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, and agentic workflows
- Comfortable working across infrastructure and backend systems
- Thrives in high-agency, fast-moving environments
