Join the Machine Learning Team at Weave as a Principal Engineer focused on speech and voice AI. You will serve as a technical leader, bridging sophisticated machine learning with practical customer-facing applications for over 30,000 healthcare practices.
You will design platforms that enable seamless AI integration across the engineering organization. Your work will drive architectural coherence and strategic technical initiatives within the Data Fellowship, supporting products like Call Intelligence and AI Receptionist.
What you'll do
- Design ML infrastructure and tooling for scalable feature delivery
- Build internal platforms to help teams incorporate AI into products
- Translate product goals into engineering plans for data integration
- Consult with teams on ML patterns, tradeoffs, and data lifecycle
- Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers to develop technical leaders
- Shape company-wide standards for engineering excellence and reliability
- Monitor industry trends to identify strategic value and emerging challenges
What you'll need
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership
- 15+ years in Machine Learning or AI, focusing on audio/voice GenAI
- Experience deploying ML-driven B2B multi-tenant applications at scale
- Deep expertise in distributed systems handling high transaction volumes
- Proficiency with LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, and Fine Tuning
- Strong background in scalable relational and NoSQL data stores
- Operational experience with GCP or AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC
- Ability to influence without authority and build cross-team consensus
Nice to have
- Expertise in building low-latency, high-accuracy AI Agents
- Production experience with customer-facing GenAI at scale
- Background in compliance-heavy environments like healthcare or fintech
- History of external technical leadership such as open source or speaking
