Join Voodoo's new Puzzle Studio, a small team of industry veterans focused on refreshing and expanding one of the company's most successful legacy titles. You will drive the game's evolution by designing engaging levels, iterating on core mechanics, and leveraging data to enhance player retention and satisfaction.
Working closely with engineers, artists, and product experts, you will participate in every aspect of development, from rapid prototyping to strategic roadmap planning. The goal is to build on past successes like Paper.io and Hole.io by applying proven learnings to create the next hit in the hybrid-casual market.
What you'll do
- Design and create challenging levels that maintain player interest and progression
- Iterate on game mechanics to enhance the core gameplay loop
- Analyze player behavior and metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with engineers and artists to implement features and designs
- Structure and monitor A/B tests to validate design decisions
- Balance difficulty curves to ensure appropriate challenge and retention
- Monitor competitor games and emerging trends in the puzzle market
- Contribute to the product roadmap and strategic direction
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of experience in game design or product roles
- Background in the mobile gaming industry
- Strong passion for puzzle and hybrid-casual games
- Analytical mindset capable of interpreting data and trends
- Understanding of player psychology and engagement drivers
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Fluent in English
Nice to have
- Experience with Unity or other game development tools
- Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies
- Track record of shipping successful mobile games
