Join the Release Team responsible for the safe, continuous delivery of ClickHouse Cloud, managing tens of thousands of database clusters. You will split your time between executing complex production upgrades and building the internal software that automates these processes. This position requires balancing hands-on operational work with software development to improve system reliability.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute rolling upgrades across thousands of ClickHouse clusters
- Own the release pipeline from validation to post-upgrade monitoring
- Resolve production issues and edge cases during on-call rotations
- Build internal tooling to automate large-scale database operations
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to solve operational pain points
- Support and educate engineering teams on internal tools usage
What you'll need
- 5+ years operating stateful distributed systems in production
- Experience running upgrades on live data stores at scale
- Strong debugging skills for unfamiliar systems under pressure
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes
- Software development experience in Go or willingness to learn it
- Experience with ClickHouse as a user or operator is preferred
