Stedi is building a modern, API-first healthcare clearinghouse that enables developers and AI agents to exchange critical transactions. As a Security Engineering Manager, you will lead a scaling security team while remaining deeply involved in technical implementation. You will define security strategy, manage compliance postures, and ensure engineers can build securely without friction.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow the security team by setting quality expectations and hiring as the function scales
- Oversee compliance engineering to meet SOC, HIPAA, and HITRUST requirements
- Manage daily engineering efforts, monitoring timelines and resources for efficient execution
- Assess vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation based on actual business risk
- Mentor engineers and promote security as a shared responsibility across the company
- Write CDK code, build playbooks, and drive security projects directly
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience in security or adjacent roles
- At least 3 years of experience in a management role
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC, HIPAA, or HITRUST
- Hands-on experience in application security and endpoint security
- Exceptional written communication skills for technical and executive audiences
- Proven experience managing teams in a remote-first environment
- Ability to context switch and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
