Join Oath as a Senior Accounting Engineer to bridge the gap between traditional audit judgment and artificial intelligence. You will own client engagements, verify AI-generated workpapers, and establish the methodologies that engineering teams implement.
This position requires defining what accurate audit procedures look like and proving their reliability to regulators and clients. You will influence product direction while mentoring junior engineers in a high-ownership startup environment.
What you'll do
- Manage client relationships from onboarding through engagement completion
- Lead complex audits and serve as escalation point for methodology issues
- Review and sign off on AI-generated workpapers and verification procedures
- Document judgment calls on evidence sufficiency for peer reviewers
- Write and maintain audit methodology and quality review standards
- Design test cases and evals to prove AI workflow reliability
- Mentor Accounting Engineers and help hire new team members
What you'll need
- 6–10+ years of audit or assurance experience
- Active CPA license is mandatory
- Working knowledge of AICPA auditing standards (AU-C)
- Experience reviewing others' work and owning engagement quality
- Ability to apply audit expertise outside traditional environments
- Comfort using technology and AI tools for analysis
- Excellent written communication skills for documenting judgments
Nice to have
- Experience with private funds, SPVs, or employee benefit plans
- Hands-on experience building or testing AI automation
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar data tools
- Experience writing firm methodology or quality management policies
- Background in startup or fast-paced unstructured environments
