You will drive the technical direction of Epistemix’s platform, which helps leaders visualize strategy outcomes across populations. The team builds high-resolution population data models and simulation infrastructure to support decision-making in healthcare, insurance, and government sectors.
As a senior engineer, you will own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. You will design resilient system architectures and ensure code quality while collaborating with internal teams to align technology with strategic goals.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain clean, testable, and highly maintainable code
- Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle from start to finish
- Build scalable and resilient system architecture for current and future needs
- Define technical direction and collaborate with teams on strategic alignment
What you'll need
- 7+ years of back-end development experience with significant senior-level work
- Expert proficiency in Python, particularly with FastAPI
- Strong experience with TypeScript for backend development
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS cloud services like EC2, EKS, and Lambda
- Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Atlantis
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and optimization
- Experience with API design principles such as RESTful and GraphQL
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js or NestJS
- Understanding of data science orchestration platforms like Prefect.io
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
