Constructor is an AI-first e-commerce search platform. The ML Infrastructure team builds the shared backend services and platform capabilities that enable ML and product teams to develop, deploy, and run machine learning at scale. This includes model serving, specialized storages, and data pipelines.
What you'll do
- Design and operate high-load distributed backend services for ML infrastructure
- Take end-to-end ownership of core ML services and data pipelines
- Partner with ML and product teams to build reliable platform capabilities
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and lead system design decisions
- Ensure high reliability and performance for self-service infrastructure components
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend or platform engineering
- Extensive knowledge of Python as the primary language
- Hands-on experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) or self-managed Kubernetes
- Experience designing and building distributed, high-load services and APIs
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and their trade-offs
- Design-driven mindset with ability to use modern AI coding tools effectively
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and taking ownership of outcomes
Nice to have
- Experience with Rust, C/C++, or Go
- Background in developing or contributing to ML platforms
- Experience setting up vector databases like Qdrant, Milvus, or Weaviate
- Knowledge of model serving and inference infrastructure including LLMs
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
