You will develop backend features and optimize applications for speed and scalability at Makai. Working with cross-functional teams, you will ensure technical feasibility of designs and maintain robust, documented code for human-machine teaming solutions.
What you'll do
- Develop new features for Node.js and TypeScript backend services
- Optimize applications to ensure maximum speed and scalability
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product designers
- Write robust, clean, and well-documented code
- Maintain and enhance existing applications
- Conduct performance tests for stability across platforms
What you'll need
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience in regulated environments like healthcare or HIPAA
- Proficiency in relational data modeling and ORM usage
- Understanding of microservices architecture and patterns
- Relevant experience using Docker for containerization
- Solid experience working in a fully remote position
Nice to have
- Experience with NestJS, Express, or Fastify frameworks
- Cloud-native experience on Azure with Kubernetes
- Workflow orchestration using Temporal or similar runtimes
- Knowledge of multi-tenant SaaS and tenant isolation
- Experience with legacy modernization or migration projects
