Join the Platform & Infrastructure pod at Ground News to design the analytical foundation for a news comparison platform. You will develop integrations, manage data quality, and create reusable models that allow analysts to self-serve insights across the organization.
What you'll do
- Design scalable, conformed data models and analytical layers for KPIs
- Build and maintain end-to-end connectors for data ingestion
- Manage infrastructure as code using Kubernetes and OpenTofu
- Monitor pipeline freshness and resolve failures urgently
- Guide data architecture decisions from backend to semantic layers
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into data models
- Ensure engineering quality through testing and code reviews
What you'll need
- 5+ years building and operating production data platforms
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python
- Strong experience with dimensional modelling concepts
- Hands-on with BigQuery, dbt, Dagster, and ingestion tools
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and message queues
- SRE-oriented mindset for monitoring and incident response
- Proven ability to validate metrics and optimize compute costs
