What you'll do

  • Create component APIs, variants, and interaction states for emerging product needs

  • Partner with designers and engineers from exploration through production implementation
  • Refine layouts, interactions, typography, and focus management in application code
  • Implement last-mile details like loading, error, and keyboard-navigation states
  • Review and fix visual, behavioral, and accessibility inconsistencies across surfaces
  • Improve documentation, testing, and contribution practices for the design system

What you'll need

  • 5+ years building production web interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • 1+ years hands-on experience building or maintaining a design system or component library
  • Strong visual and interaction-design judgment with ability to implement improvements
  • Production-level experience with Vue or comparable frameworks like React or Svelte
  • Demonstrable experience implementing WCAG accessibility standards in shipped components
  • Portfolio showing before/after component or interaction work beyond visual mockups

Nice to have

  • Experience authoring native Web Components consumed outside their originating framework
  • Work across mixed-framework stacks with server-rendered templates like Django or HTMX
  • Contributed to a component library used by ten or more other engineers or teams
