Leaply is a digital health ecosystem helping users build healthy habits through daily practices. As part of SKELAR, a venture builder, the team operates in a remote-friendly environment with over 60 specialists and millions of global users.
You will take ownership of the payment and operations domain, designing a new subscription module and integrating alternative payment processors alongside existing providers. The role requires high-level architectural decisions and direct collaboration with product and business teams.
What you'll do
- Integrate a new payment orchestrator or billing provider and configure methods by country
- Design a custom subscription module handling states, rebills, retries, and cancellations
- Run parallel A/B tests on payment flows and manage gradual traffic migration
- Extract the payment module from the monolith into a separate service with its own database
- Build a payment dashboard and data pipelines to BigQuery with alerting systems
What you'll need
- 5+ years of commercial backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong background in payment domains including subscriptions, chargebacks, and PSP integration
- Experience designing services from scratch under live traffic with idempotency and queues
- Proficiency in integrating external APIs with robust error handling and monitoring
- Ability to identify risks, propose solutions, and communicate effectively with business stakeholders
- Regular use of AI tools for coding, reviews, and data analysis
Nice to have
- Experience with payment orchestrators like Primer or Spreedly
- Background in extracting modules from monoliths to microservices
- Knowledge of BigQuery and data pipeline construction
- Familiarity with GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Argo CD
- Basic React or Next.js skills for internal interface development
