This leadership position bridges infrastructure and product engineering at ClickUp. You will build partnerships across product, AI, and enterprise teams to ensure shared ownership and unblock velocity. The role requires setting a forward-looking cloud vision while ensuring the platform scales for multi-region growth and meets strict security commitments.
What you'll do
- Migrate data workloads to EKS and self-host key services to reduce costs
- Consolidate legacy frontend ALBs into a single EKS-managed ALB per shard
- Eliminate single points of ownership in Networking, OpenSearch, and Terraform
- Establish recurring alignment cadences with Product, AI, and Security teams
- Implement automated shard buildout via Backstage to remove manual toil
- Reduce P0/P1 incidents through hardened ingress patterns and policy guardrails
- Lead design reviews and contribute code to key infrastructure initiatives
- Manage vendor relationships and track AWS spend visibility and savings
What you'll need
- At least 9 years in infrastructure engineering with 5+ years in management
- Deep mastery of AWS infrastructure including EKS, VPC, TGW, and DNS
- Expertise in Terraform at scale with strong architectural judgment
- Proven ability to remain hands-on by architecting and writing code
- Experience translating cloud priorities into 3–9 month team roadmaps
- Track record of managing distributed senior teams across FTEs and contractors
- Strong operational rigor with on-call instincts and RCA follow-through
- Demonstrated daily use of AI tools in engineering workflows
Nice to have
- Experience scaling GPU orchestration or model-serving infrastructure
- Background in cost-optimized compute for AI inference workloads
