Loancrate builds AI-driven software to automate mortgage origination, aiming to reduce costs for lenders and borrowers. As a Senior Product Designer, you will transform complex financial workflows into intuitive, trustworthy experiences.
You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering, leading discovery sessions and shaping product direction. The role requires balancing high-craft visual design with practical delivery in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end design for a core product area from discovery to high-fidelity mocks
- Lead customer discovery sessions and usability tests to inform design decisions
- Create intuitive UX patterns for multi-step automation and data-dense interfaces
- Design AI-native experiences handling uncertainty, streaming content, and errors
- Build and maintain Figma component libraries and design system assets
- Advocate for accessibility compliance including WCAG and inclusive practices
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between design craft and delivery velocity
What you'll need
- Portfolio demonstrating high-craft visual and interaction design for complex workflows
- Deep proficiency in Figma including variables, auto-layout, and prototyping
- Experience designing for AI-native UX with probabilistic outputs
- Ability to design approachable data-dense UIs with tables and filtering
- Strong user research skills including interviewing and synthesizing insights
- Proficiency in accessibility standards such as WCAG, ARIA, and color contrast
- Experience contributing to or building scalable design systems
- Product mindset with clear communication rationale and decision-making skills
