You will lead the design side of Click UI, ensuring consistent component behavior across the ClickHouse ecosystem. This position requires a designer who codes, partnering closely with engineers and product managers to drive adoption and improve user experience.
The team values designers who fix bugs directly, use AI to accelerate workflows, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work on complex B2B software tools while shaping the company's design culture.
What you'll do
- Own the Click UI design system in Figma and define component aesthetics
- Collaborate with contributors to improve system adoption and quality
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups based on rapid feedback
- Partner with product managers and engineers as an embedded collaborator
- Use AI tools to automate tasks and enhance design and code output
- Validate assumptions through feedback sessions with stakeholders
- Advocate for UX quality by establishing necessary guardrails
What you'll need
- Strong visual design fundamentals and design system experience
- Proven track record designing complex B2B SaaS or developer tools
- Advanced Figma proficiency including components and prototyping
- Frontend engineering skills in CSS, React, and TypeScript
- Comfortable working directly within a real codebase
- Experience owning products end-to-end with cross-functional teams
- Active use of AI tools in design or engineering workflows
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-brand design systems or multiple tech stacks
- Background designing IDEs, data products, or technical developer tools
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Copilot, or v0
- Open source contributions or active GitHub presence
- Experience in globally distributed, fast-moving startups
