Join the Design team at Juniper Square to shape how design and engineering collaborate at scale. You will define the strategy for the design system, integrate AI into workflows, and set technical directions for UI quality. This hands-on leadership role requires building components while establishing governance and adoption models for a complex financial platform.
What you'll do
- Own design system strategy, roadmap, and governance model
- Define AI enablement strategy for design-to-engineering workflows
- Set technical direction and standards for UI quality across product
- Identify systemic quality gaps and build plans to address them
- Build infrastructure and tooling for designers to ship code
- Partner with leadership to shape long-term cross-functional collaboration
What you'll need
- 10+ years experience in design and front-end engineering
- Proven track record building and scaling design systems
- Strong portfolio demonstrating craft and leadership impact
- Deep skills in TypeScript, React, and CSS with design taste
- Experience defining technical strategy for design tooling
- Fluency with AI-powered coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code
- Ability to align leadership without formal authority
Nice to have
- Experience in complex B2B or enterprise SaaS environments
- Background in Financial Services or Investment Management
- Experience scaling design systems across multiple product lines
- Familiarity with design tokens and Figma variables at systems level
