Join Onebrief’s Infrastructure & Security team to enhance the stability and performance of AI-powered workflow software used for military planning. You will work directly in the application codebase to resolve reliability issues at the source rather than managing infrastructure alone. This role bridges engineering and operations, supporting mission-critical deployments in on-prem DoD and AWS environments.
What you'll do
- Fix reliability and performance issues directly in the TypeScript codebase
- Design monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus and Grafana
- Define and measure SLIs and SLOs to quantify system reliability
- Lead incident response and conduct blameless post-mortems to prevent recurrence
- Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce toil for engineering teams
What you'll need
- Active Secret Security Clearance is mandatory
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or SRE roles
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript or willingness to work primarily in it
- Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Ability to collaborate effectively across product, platform, and DevOps teams
Nice to have
- Experience with Grafana stack, ELK, or Datadog for observability
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Familiarity with Kubernetes cluster design and operations
- Experience designing SLIs/SLOs with error budgets for distributed systems
- Background in DoD environments and compliance frameworks like RMF or STIGs
- Relevant certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or CKA/CKAD
