Join a team dedicated to improving modern coding agents by evaluating their interactions in real-world scenarios. You will assess whether AI outputs reflect strong engineering taste, useful reasoning, and high-quality explanations.
This position requires making subjective but rigorous judgments about how well tools like Cursor guide users. You will provide detailed written feedback and video explanations to help define what great engineering assistance looks like.
What you'll do
- Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions from start to finish
- Judge if outputs align with how a strong engineer thinks
- Assess the quality of explanations and reasoning provided
- Distinguish between different levels of response quality
- Provide clear, opinionated written feedback on interactions
- Help define standards for excellent AI coding assistance
What you'll need
- Senior, Staff, or Principal-level engineering experience
- Strong background in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python
- Hands-on experience with Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor
- Deep familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows
- Ability to evaluate code without executing every line
- Strong written and spoken English (B2 or above)
- Comfortable giving direct and opinionated feedback
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to prompt design or evaluation workflows
- Experience mentoring senior engineers
- Experience defining engineering standards
