Join IRIS Software Group as a Senior Software Engineer within the Elements team. You will design and deliver complex, scalable systems that serve millions of users, working with .NET Core backends and cutting-edge UI frameworks. This position offers the chance to influence architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and integrate AI tools into engineering practices while ensuring high-quality software delivery.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver scalable multi-service integrations and high-traffic APIs
- Own large features from conception through to production support
- Lead technical discussions and influence component-level architecture decisions
- Establish architectural patterns, standards, and best practices for the team
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to raise team capability
- Champion TDD/BDD standards and automated testing strategies
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex software issues and incidents
- Partner with product and design teams to meet business objectives
What you'll need
- 5-7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET Core Web APIs
- Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, Vue.js, or Blazor
- Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data architecture decisions
- Proficiency in cloud services using Azure or AWS
- Experience with containerisation via Docker or Kubernetes
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated domains such as finance or health
- Expertise in prompt engineering and Model Context Protocol
- Advanced monitoring skills using DataDog custom dashboards
- Knowledge of micro-frontends, SSR, or SSG architecture patterns
- Experience with GraphQL APIs and real-time communication
- Advanced cloud certifications in Azure or AWS
