Join the Platform team at Juniper Square to construct the infrastructure layer supporting all AI initiatives, including the JunieAI platform. You will design and operate production systems that enable retrieval, data access, governance, and agent frameworks for private market operations.
As a hands-on individual contributor, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship reliable, observable services. The role requires deep technical expertise in backend development and a strong focus on AI-native software development practices.
What you'll do
- Design and ship production-quality APIs and services for platform capabilities
- Own projects end-to-end from technical design to deployment and iteration
- Build reusable infrastructure and tooling to improve engineering velocity
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure reliability and performance
- Integrate AI/LLM-powered capabilities like RAG pipelines and agent workflows
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness and maintain high quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with goals
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and optimization
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and operating services in production
- Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools such as Cursor or Augment
- Proven track record of building or integrating AI/LLM systems in production
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Nice to have
- Background in financial services or fintech industries
- Experience with TypeScript and React for full-stack tasks
- Knowledge of API gateway infrastructure and security governance tooling
- Experience with retrieval systems or agent frameworks at production scale
