Join Arbor’s engineering team to build the backend systems powering an AI-driven energy marketplace. You will design scalable services, manage cloud infrastructure, and integrate with utility data sources to help users save on electricity costs.
This high-ownership position requires shipping production systems in a lean team environment. You will leverage AI-augmented development practices and collaborate closely with product partners to deliver resilient experiences.
What you'll do
- Design and build scalable backend services for the core marketplace platform
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform
- Build integrations with utility data sources and supplier APIs
- Create robust data pipelines for real-time rate monitoring
- Partner with product teams to translate needs into resilient systems
- Collaborate in a small team with multiple daily production deploys
- Leverage AI tools to enhance development workflows
What you'll need
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with production systems at scale
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript expertise with Node.js
- Hands-on experience managing cloud environments on GCP
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
- Comfort with SQL databases, ideally Postgres
- Experience with API design and async processing patterns
- Active use of AI coding tools in development workflow

- Familiarity with Nest.js framework
- Interest in energy, climate tech, or marketplace products
