Playlab is a nonprofit building public infrastructure for educational AI, empowering educators to create custom tools. As a Senior Visual Communication Designer, you will own the brand expression and visual surfaces where users encounter the platform. You will translate complex AI concepts into intuitive narratives through design, working at the intersection of a startup, R&D lab, and mission-driven organization.
What you'll do
- Own design execution from concept to final production across various formats
- Create brand expressions, storytelling visuals, data graphics, and motion assets
- Develop intuitive narratives that make complex AI systems accessible to educators
- Build and curate tooling and workflows to enhance design efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership to validate design decisions and drive projects forward
- Produce high-quality assets for web, print, and motion with attention to detail
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of experience with a strong foundation in graphic design
- Expertise in visual communication such as brand, editorial, campaign, or web design
- Ability to lead design projects while collaborating effectively across teams
- Proficiency with creative tools and workflows, including AI-leveraging technologies
- Strong production skills with the ability to take files to final delivery
- Genuine interest in learning environments and working with educators or students
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the education sector or edtech industry
- Background in designing for creative technology products
- Enthusiasm for exploring creative side projects and experiments
