Join Blockstream to build enterprise custody solutions that secure digital assets on the Bitcoin network. You will design and maintain scalable systems, handling everything from database architecture to cloud-based deployments.
The team works on fundamental Bitcoin infrastructure, including layer-2 projects and hardware wallets. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to deliver high-availability applications and optimize system performance.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain scalable end-to-end systems for APIs and SDKs
- Handle full stack development from database architecture to cloud deployment
- Optimize system performance and security for high availability
- Collaborate with front-end, product, and hardware teams
- Implement CI/CD, automated testing, and code review best practices
- Research and integrate emerging technologies for security and efficiency
- Troubleshoot complex software issues in a fast-paced environment
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge with the team
What you'll need
- 5+ years of full-stack development with backend focus
- Proficiency in C++, Python, Rust, or Node.js
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and SDKs
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization
- Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, encryption, and access control
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Bitcoin, blockchain, or cryptography
- Open-source software development experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with system or software architecture
