Join the innovation team at Forward Financing as a Staff Software Engineer focused on Applied AI. You will translate high-level business needs into functional AI solutions, leveraging existing foundational models to create impactful tools and agents. This position requires an expert generalist capable of integrating AI capabilities across diverse technology stacks in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Translate business problems into end-to-end AI solutions
- Design and maintain backend services and APIs for AI features
- Integrate AI services with microservices, AWS, and Snowflake
- Build experimentation frameworks for rapid test-and-learn cycles
- Collaborate with product, data science, and frontend teams
- Document system designs and integration patterns for knowledge sharing
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field
- Strong backend engineering skills with Python preferred
- Experience designing scalable distributed services and APIs
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and container orchestration
- Familiarity with AI ecosystem, APIs, and orchestration frameworks
- Ability to integrate third-party AI services in multi-stack environments
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby or Go programming languages
- Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, Langchain, or vector databases
- Understanding of responsible AI principles and data privacy
- Experience building APIs for real-time AI applications
