Join LILT’s Internal Tools group to develop and maintain the systems used by delivery, operations, and engineering teams. You will support the Applied AI benchmarking business, which provides multilingual evaluation data to leading AI labs. The team operates with high reliability standards and direct impact on customer deliverables.
What you'll do
- Translate benchmark requirements into technical designs with researchers and TPMs
- Own workforce management tools for hundreds of external contributors
- Define architecture and long-term technical direction across multiple services
- Extend audio and data quality pipelines using LLM-based QC and scoring
- Build self-serve ChatOps automation for engineering and contributor workflows
- Harden background worker infrastructure and enforce CI/CD practices
- Mentor team members and raise engineering standards through code reviews
What you'll need
- 5+ years of full-stack experience owning production systems end-to-end
- Deep expertise in Python backend frameworks like FastAPI and async SQLAlchemy
- Production experience with a statically-typed language such as Go or Java
- Strong React and TypeScript skills including state management and data fetching
- Experience building fault-tolerant background job and worker systems
- Proficiency integrating third-party APIs, OAuth, and LLM providers
- Background in building Slack bots for internal workflow automation
- Ability to debug memory growth in long-running Python worker processes
- Experience creating internal platforms that support non-engineering teams
Nice to have
- Experience with audio/speech pipelines like Whisper or DNSMOS
- Background in managing data-labeling or crowdsourced workforces
- Familiarity with statistical agreement metrics for annotator quality
- Experience designing abstractions over heterogeneous data sources
- Knowledge of short-lived JWT auth and service-to-service security
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry observability in Go services
- Experience with LLM provider gateway routing and budget enforcement
