You will define the design vision for the DeepBook financial stack, covering spot trading, margin, prediction markets, and liquidity. Working closely with product and engineering leadership, you will balance hands-on design of critical flows with building a scalable design team and system.
The position requires deep fluency in decentralized finance and the ability to make complex risk data clear for diverse audiences. You will drive research, establish quality measures, and ensure responsible product launches across legal and security boundaries.
What you'll do
- Set design vision and priorities with product and engineering leadership
- Own end-to-end experience for DeepBook spot, margin, and prediction products
- Lead design of core journeys like onboarding, order entry, and risk management
- Build a scalable design system for dense financial data and interaction patterns
- Establish research programs using interviews, usability studies, and analytics
- Partner with engineering to understand protocol behavior and platform constraints
- Define quality measures linked to activation, retention, and user trust
What you'll need
- 10+ years of product design experience with team leadership background
- Portfolio demonstrating craft and impact in complex, data-dense products
- Experience designing high-stakes products like trading, fintech, or crypto
- Fluency in DeFi concepts such as swaps, liquidity, slippage, and settlement
- Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping
- Ability to build design systems that improve consistency across products
- Comfort working through ambiguity in changing technical and market conditions
Nice to have
- Experience designing exchanges, derivatives, or institutional trading platforms
- Familiarity with Sui, Move, DeepBook, or object-based blockchain architectures
- Background in legally complex or regulated financial categories
- Prior experience as a founder, design executive, or DeFi power user
