You will own the strategy and execution for Wealthsimple’s Connectivity Platform, which enables clients to link external bank and brokerage accounts and allows partners to access financial data via public APIs. This platform role requires balancing technical architecture, vendor management, and client experience to build a reliable and scalable financial ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Set long-term vision for connecting with the broader financial ecosystem
- Define build versus buy strategies for platform capabilities
- Own end-to-end experience for linking external bank and brokerage accounts
- Improve connection success rates and reliability across institutions
- Manage relationships with connectivity vendors like Plaid and Flinks
- Drive strategy and roadmap for the Public API and external data access
- Ensure safe client permissioning of financial data to third parties
- Balance conversion goals against fraud exposure and operational load
What you'll need
- Experience owning a platform, API, or integrations product
- Track record of metric-attached outcomes like reliability or conversion
- Technical depth to collaborate on APIs, authentication, and data models
- Experience managing external vendors and making build vs buy decisions
- Ability to treat reliability as product work including error recovery
- Experience weighing growth against fraud, risk, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills to measure product performance and coverage
- Leadership skills across Engineering, Design, Security, and Legal
Nice to have
- Experience with open banking or consumer-driven banking frameworks
- Background in financial data aggregation at a bank or fintech
- Experience shipping a public API as a commercial product
- Knowledge of partner onboarding and support processes
