Assured modernizes insurance claims processing with software solutions for large insurers, ranging from self-service filing to backend fraud detection. As a Staff Security Engineer, you will partner with engineering and product teams to mature security practices across the platform.
You will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to design scalable security solutions, automate controls in CI/CD pipelines, and improve both security posture and engineering efficiency.
What you'll do
- Lead security architecture and design reviews for applications and infrastructure
- Coordinate penetration testing, threat modeling, and security reviews
- Implement security automation within CI/CD pipelines for policy enforcement
- Secure cloud platforms on AWS including identity, network, and workloads
- Build security observability, SIEM integrations, and threat intelligence signals
- Lead incident response investigations and mitigate security incidents
- Manage the bug bounty program and vulnerability management workflows
- Develop security standards, playbooks, and training for engineering teams
What you'll need
- Deep understanding of application and cloud security threats
- Strong software engineering background in Python, TypeScript, or similar
- Hands-on experience securing AWS infrastructure and containerized workloads
- Experience building DevSecOps pipelines with SAST, DAST, and IaC scanning
- Proficiency in designing security telemetry pipelines and SIEM usage
- Experience with penetration testing and architectural security reviews
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks like CIS, NIST, SOC2, or HIPAA
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible
