You will shape the technical direction of security tooling and AppSec practices while leading high-impact initiatives. The work involves both offensive security testing and defensive architecture design to help engineers move fast without creating risk.
Reporting to the Staff Software Engineer for Security, you will collaborate with product engineers, DevOps, and Fraud teams. You are expected to take security initiatives end-to-end, mentor other engineers, and raise the bar for security standards across the company.
What you'll do
- Shape technical direction for security tooling and AppSec practices
- Lead secure design from threat modeling through architecture
- Design and evolve DevSecOps architecture across the SDLC
- Build in-house tooling to identify and remediate security issues
- Implement AI solutions to automate and scale security work
- Perform advanced offensive security and build proofs of concept
- Mentor engineers and establish standards for security work
What you'll need
- 5+ years experience in AppSec, DevSecOps, or offensive security
- Professional offensive security experience with complex vulnerabilities
- Track record of leading security initiatives and mentoring engineers
- Experience leading threat modeling and secure design projects
- Experience embedding security in CI/CD pipelines and SDLC
- Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in writing and maintaining code, preferably Python
- Strong communication skills to influence cross-functional teams
Nice to have
- Relevant security certifications like BSCP, KCSA, or AWS SCS
- Professional software development experience
- Published security research, CVEs, or conference talks
- Experience applying AI or LLMs to security workflows
- Contributions to open-source security tools
- Mobile development or mobile security experience
