Join Skydio's Cloud infrastructure team to maintain the availability of the platform powering autonomous drones worldwide. This staff-level position involves owning production infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability for users ranging from utility inspectors to first responders.
You will work hands-on with Kubernetes, AWS, and infrastructure as code to support continuous delivery and deployment. The role requires deep expertise in at least one infrastructure domain while maintaining strong fundamentals across the stack.
What you'll do
- Build and troubleshoot production Kubernetes/EKS clusters
- Manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, networking, and databases
- Define and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
- Operate CI/CD and deployment pipelines
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production incidents
- Automate operational tasks using Python or Go
- Expand infrastructure across new regions and environments
What you'll need
- 8+ years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps roles
- Strong hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters
- Deep knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, and EKS
- Production experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Experience managing CI/CD systems like Argo CD or Jenkins
- Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and networking issues
- Must be a US person due to export control restrictions
- FAA Part 107 certification required within 60 days
Nice to have
- Experience with Helm and GitOps workflows
- Proficiency with Datadog or similar observability tools
- PostgreSQL database operations experience
- Background in multi-region infrastructure management
- Experience with on-premises or disconnected deployments
- Knowledge of streaming or high-throughput distributed systems
