Join the Treasury team at Juniper Square to build the platform handling transactions, balances, and bank data. You will drive architectural decisions and write production code while helping transition systems from monolith to service-oriented architecture.
This player-coach role requires leading through code and mentoring engineers. You will collaborate with product and design teams to deliver complex full-stack workflows and integrate AI-native practices into the development lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Set technical direction and own domain architecture from design to production
- Write production code as a hands-on individual contributor
- Lead the transition from monolith to service-oriented architecture
- Manage short-term roadmap and mitigate technical risks
- Mentor engineers and establish scalable coding standards
- Integrate AI tools while guarding against over-reliance
- Resolve production issues using observability tooling
What you'll need
- 12+ years in backend or full-stack engineering with leadership trajectory
- Deep expertise in Python, Node/TS, Java, C++, or C#
- Proficiency with React and modern front-end frameworks
- Experience with relational/NoSQL databases and schema design
- Strong background in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC
- Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools like Cursor
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and business intelligence tools
- Background in financial document processing or fintech data
- Production experience building AI/LLM-powered systems
- Prior technical lead role on early-stage product teams
