Join Block Labs as the most senior frontend engineer, responsible for the architecture and production behavior of a multi-brand platform. You will work as an individual contributor, turning product prototypes into production features by leveraging AI agents and maintaining high standards for performance and accessibility.
The role requires deep expertise in modern web technologies and the ability to define conventions, build design systems, and ensure clean boundaries between shared and brand-specific code. You will collaborate directly with product owners to steer ideas into production, focusing on outcomes rather than following predefined backlogs.
What you'll do
- Own frontend architecture, conventions, and production quality end-to-end
- Enable adding new brands via configuration rather than code copying
- Build and maintain the design system and component library
- Convert product prototypes into production features using AI tooling
- Integrate AI coding agents into daily workflows with quality checks
- Ensure high performance, accessibility, and attention to UI detail
- Collaborate directly with product owners on UX concerns and solutions
What you'll need
- 8+ years building production consumer-facing web applications
- Proven experience owning frontend projects from brief to production
- Deep expertise in React, Next.js, and modern TypeScript
- Experience building multi-brand or multi-tenant frontends
- Track record of building or owning a design system
- Proficient in using AI coding agents as primary development tools
- Strong command of written and verbal English
- Demonstrable work improving Core Web Vitals in production
Nice to have
- Experience with real-time, high-interaction consumer interfaces
- Background in fintech, crypto, or high-traffic gaming platforms
- Experience building tooling to improve AI agent integration
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and cloud environments
