You will design scalable backend services, develop user-facing interfaces, and manage critical financial systems like payment orchestration and ledger infrastructure. This position offers significant autonomy to choose tools and define technical direction within a fast-growing fintech team.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain end-to-end systems for customer workflows and internal operations
- Evolve architecture to balance scalability, reliability, and security
- Manage core financial systems including payments, ledgers, and underwriting engines
- Integrate third-party financial APIs to automate risk and cash workflows
- Mentor team members through code reviews and system design guidance
- Ensure high observability and reliability for increasing transaction volumes
What you'll need
- 4+ years of experience shipping production-scale software
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
- Ability to select appropriate tools for specific problems
- Strong systems thinking with focus on long-term maintainability
- Pragmatic approach balancing business impact, quality, and speed
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, distributed environment
Nice to have
- Experience in Fintech, credit risk, or payment processing
- Background as a startup founder or early-stage engineer
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, BigQuery, or Google Cloud Platform
- Interest in computing history and tools for thought
