You will lead the Platform team, which builds the core software enabling robotic cells to perceive, move, and recover. This position requires deep robotics engineering knowledge to guide product decisions, write precise specifications, and ensure solutions work on actual factory floors.
The role focuses on turning customer and engineering insights into prioritized initiatives. You will manage cycle planning, track milestones, and make evidence-based arguments on technical trade-offs like perception accuracy versus cycle time.
What you'll do
- Own the Platform roadmap by turning ideas into prioritized jobs to be done
- Write detailed specs and set milestones for engineering teams to commit to
- Run cycle planning and track dates against milestones with technical leads
- Sign off that delivered work meets requirements and quality standards
- Collaborate daily with engineers on technical trade-offs and architecture
- Bring customer reality from high-mix manufacturers into prioritization decisions
- Ensure platform features work on customer factory floors, not just in labs
What you'll need
- Robotics engineering background with shipped robot software experience
- Senior product experience owning a technical area with 10+ engineers
- Ability to write specs that hold up in high-cost-of-change environments
- Discipline in estimation, milestones, and honest reforecasting
- Skill in arguing by evidence with senior engineers without conflict
- Excellent written English for remote, document-driven communication
- Working grasp of learned robotics including ML-driven perception and control
Nice to have
- Experience in industrial automation or high-mix manufacturing
- Hands-on time with simulation tooling such as Isaac Sim
- Experience defining ways of working as first product person in an area
- Serious daily use of AI tools in product work
