Join Air Apps as a Backend QA Engineer to validate the performance and scalability of backend systems for their global AI platform. You will collaborate closely with engineers to maintain high quality standards through API validation, database testing, and infrastructure reviews.
This role is based entirely at the Lisbon office, offering an opportunity to work in person with cross-functional teams. The company supports relocation efforts for candidates moving to Portugal.
What you'll do
- Design and execute tests for backend systems, APIs, and service integrations
- Validate API functionality and performance using tools like Postman or Swagger
- Test database operations and data integrity in PostgreSQL environments
- Review pull requests to ensure code quality and adequate test coverage
- Develop and maintain automated tests for backend services
- Identify potential reliability or performance issues in backend infrastructure
- Document defects and test cases using management tools such as TestRail
What you'll need
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in backend testing or development
- Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript in backend environments
- Familiarity with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Experience testing REST APIs with tools like Postman or Swagger
- Understanding of API, database, and integration testing practices
- Ability to review backend architecture changes for quality assurance
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
