You will focus on validating the reliability and scalability of backend systems by testing APIs, databases, and service integrations. Working from the Lisbon office, you will collaborate closely with engineers to maintain high quality standards through manual and automated testing strategies.
What you'll do
- Design and execute tests for backend systems, APIs, and databases
- Validate API functionality and performance using Postman or Swagger
- Verify database operations, queries, and data integrity in PostgreSQL
- Review pull requests to ensure code quality and adequate test coverage
- Develop and maintain automated tests for backend services
- Identify potential reliability or performance issues in infrastructure
- Document defects and test cases using tools like TestRail
What you'll need
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in backend testing or SDET roles
- Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript in backend environments
- Experience with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Skilled in testing REST APIs using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of API, database, and integration testing practices
- Ability to review backend architecture changes for quality assurance
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
