You will engineer the application layer of SimSpace's internet simulation platform, creating a persistent catalog of fake and real services like social media, webmail, and cloud platforms. Your work enables red and blue teams to train in environments indistinguishable from the real internet.

The role combines service deployment automation, content generation, and infrastructure management. You will ensure simulated services behave realistically, handling everything from DNS records to email authentication and user persona consistency.

What you'll do

  • Design and operate Kubernetes-based deployment automation for simulated services
  • Build content seeding pipelines to inject realistic data into fake applications
  • Configure and manage authoritative DNS for all simulated public domains
  • Maintain email delivery infrastructure with correct authentication headers
  • Collaborate with identity teams to provision user accounts for simulated personas
  • Implement observability and monitoring using Grafana for service health
  • Develop APIs allowing external systems to manage simulated services programmatically

What you'll need

  • Strong bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Solid experience deploying and operating containerized services in Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience running self-hosted open-source platforms like mail or social servers
  • Working knowledge of operating authoritative nameservers and DNS zone delegation
  • Familiarity with email delivery infrastructure and sender authentication mechanisms
  • Experience with web scraping, data transformation, or content generation pipelines
  • Comfort working across a broad, heterogeneous catalog of technologies

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with PKI, TLS fundamentals, and custom certificate authorities
  • Experience in cybersecurity, red team infrastructure, or cyber range environments

Stack

  • Typescript
  • React
  • Postgres
  • Kotlin
  • Kubernetes
  • Spring Boot

How you'll work

  • Fully remote position
  • Collaboration across multiple time zones

What you get

  • Private medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid parental leave plans
  • Equity stock options at hire with annual performance grants
  • LinkedIn Learning membership for professional development
  • Monthly reimbursements for team social connections
  • Access to company-paid mental health counseling via Spring Health
