You will design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems that support Air Apps' global user base. Working closely with engineering teams, you will ensure data integrity, security, and scalability for their AI-driven Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain high-performance database systems for large-scale applications
- Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning for better performance
- Monitor database health to ensure availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Manage and tune SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL and Redis
- Implement security policies, encryption, and access controls for data protection
- Automate backups, replication, and failover mechanisms
- Collaborate with developers on schema design and data modeling
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data governance regulations
What you'll need
- At least 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar
- Expertise in relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB
- Strong knowledge of optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication
- Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting slow queries
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Experience with cloud database services on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or SQL for automation tasks
- Understanding of data security best practices and compliance requirements
