You will combine visual design and engineering to build intuitive interfaces for Ashby’s recruiting software. Working closely with the VP of Engineering, you will create polished UIs, expand the internal design system, and consult on product designs. The team values shipping fast, iterating based on feedback, and maintaining high visual standards without excessive process.
What you'll do
- Redesign flows by wireframing, implementing design systems, and building polished UIs
- Build flexible, composable components for the internal design system
- Consult with Product Engineers to improve information hierarchy and scannability
- Ship features to hundreds of users and iterate based on feedback
- Balance visual excellence with technical implementation details
What you'll need
- 2+ years of continuous experience as an Engineer or Designer
- Proficiency in both Design and Engineering disciplines
- Exceptional proficiency in your primary discipline (Design or Eng)
- Experience designing products and shipping code to users
- Strong visual taste and execution skills
- Good proficiency with TypeScript, React, and CSS
Nice to have
- Proficiency with backend technologies like Node.js or GraphQL
- Experience contributing to design systems at scale
- Ability to work independently without heavy project management structure
