Join the platform team at Knock, a Series A startup building an API-first product notification service. You will own foundational infrastructure, focusing on reliability, elastic scale, and developer experience for a distributed engineering team.
What you'll do
- Modernize and maintain Terraform-backed EKS clusters for scale and security
- Troubleshoot Postgres performance and plan for significant scaling growth
- Improve telemetry and traces using Datadog, AWS Cloudwatch, and Honeycomb
- Maintain service uptime above 99.95% through proactive monitoring
- Enhance developer experience with canaries and blue/green deployments
- Participate in on-call rotations alongside the rest of the engineering team
What you'll need
- 4+ years of DevOps experience in startup or mid-sized companies
- Production Kubernetes experience using Infrastructure as Code like Terraform
- Deep experience with complex AWS deployments including VPC and EKS
- Operational experience scaling Aurora Postgres, Mongo, or ClickHouse
- Familiarity with scaling queues and streams such as SQS, Kinesis, or Kafka
- Strong communication skills for a fully distributed, documentation-heavy culture
