Lead the vision for foundational systems that power Juniper Square’s engineering organization. You will drive the modularization of core services, accelerate AI-native development practices, and establish robust security postures. Acting as a strategic multiplier, you will treat the internal platform as a top-tier product to enable high-velocity feature delivery.
What you'll do
- Direct the multi-year strategy to decouple legacy monolith into modular FastAPI architecture
- Champion adoption of AI-assisted coding tools and measure developer productivity
- Guide development of SDKs and tools for easy LLM integration by product teams
- Embed secure coding practices and automated scanning into developer workflows
- Oversee scale and reliability of Identity, Audit Logs, and API gateways
- Negotiate refactoring timelines with Product leaders and collaborate with DevOps
- Recruit and mentor engineering managers and staff engineers
What you'll need
- 15+ years software engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership
- Experience explicitly managing managers and leading multiple teams
- Proven track record architecting systems supporting AI features like LLMs and RAG
- Experience driving massive monolith-to-modular migrations in high-traffic environments
- Deep understanding of Application Security, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC
- Strong technical fluency in Python and FastAPI ecosystems
- Ability to translate technical trade-offs into business value
