Bubble is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Developer Experience pod. This team focuses on modernizing the developer environment, reducing workflow friction, and integrating AI tools to boost engineering velocity and code quality across the organization.
You will manage a team responsible for build systems, testing frameworks, and internal standards. The role involves strategic planning, hiring, and hands-on technical contribution to ensure scalable improvements for all engineers at Bubble.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow the Developer Experience engineering team
- Own the DX strategy and roadmap for velocity improvements
- Manage career development, hiring, and promotions equitably
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies into workflows
- Partner with other teams to roll out scalable changes
- Set technical quality standards and manage technical debt
- Optimize local development loops including build and reload times
What you'll need
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Strong proficiency across frontend and infrastructure stacks
- Experience with build systems, bundlers, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience utilizing AI tooling to accelerate development
- Ability to organize and lead multiple complex projects
- Strong problem-solving skills balancing short and long-term goals
